Ontesol s course was perfect for me because I could work on the
assignments when and where I wanted. In addition, I really appreciated
the guidance and advice my tutor gave me for the assignments, tasks and
exams I handed in. The comments left on my every assignment and exam
have been very detailed and helpful!
Scott MacKinnon 100-hour TESOL Graduate
I took the 100-hour Ontesol course in order to learn and to get a formal
qualification for my C.V. Language schools here in Istanbul are
familiar with the Ontesol course and regard it as a good one. I found
the course better than I expected. The course materials are excellent.
The tutor whom I had, Claudia, was expert in both English and in
teaching English. She was always there to help with any questions and
corrected assignments giving lots of explanation about what was good and
what was not-so-good. You can also re-do the assignment after this
input and increase your score. Taking the course on-line gives you great
flexibility. You can work on it whenever you want, even wherever you
want. There is plenty of time to finish the course. I am a very happy
customer.
Richard Ward 100-hour TESOL Graduate
I was impressed with the organization of the course, both the admin
office and my tutor were quick to respond to any queries I had. With
regards to my tutor I thought that the support she gave me throughout
the course was excellent and the comments she offered when marking my
assignments were insightful and helpful. I would recommend this course
to anyone looking for a reputable online TEFL course
Wayne Letcher 250-hour TESOL Graduate
I have to say I truly enjoyed the readings, the task and assignments.
Before starting this course I was somewhat arrogant in my attitude,
having taught English in Korea for six years already. I was unsure of
how much I would benefit from the material. Not only was the course
interesting, but it quickly uncovered some misconceptions I had had
regarding English grammar and it refined my teaching techniques. I now
have more confidence and feel that I can do a more worthy job in my
classes. This course also despelled the doubts I had regarding online
courses, which I used to think may not be worthy.
Jeannie Rediker 100 -hour TESOL Graduate
This course was amazing! I could have just gone to South Korea with my
Bachelor of Arts degree to teach but to be honest I am really glad that I
took the 100-hour course before applying to go. This course is
extremely informative and will give you a great deal of knowledge on
teaching English. A lot of great resources are brought to your attention
and a lot of great teaching methods are shown to prepare you to teach
and to be successful at your teaching. I highly recommend this course to
anyone interested.
Brad Smith - 100-hour TESOL Graduate
Ontesol is a great provider of TESOL courses. The modules were
well-organized and the material was easy to understand. I was also very
impressed by my tutor's advice and guidance.
Denise - 250-hour TESOL Graduate
I have been taught by a very dedicated and enthusiastic teacher whom I
hope someday to become. I am taking with me a lot of ideas, sound
knowledge of grammar and phonology for my future career as an ESL
teacher
Ainsley from Canada - TEYL Graduate
I thought the course was great! I feel like I learnt a lot material wise
now I just have to work on using all of it in practice. I thought the
topics flowed well together and it was easy to follow. I did find the
lesson planning part a little harder than the other aspects of the
course I will definitely have to practice making lesson plans. I really
liked the module on storytelling and on pronunciation. I just like how
you can really get the learners interested and let their imaginations
help them learn with the storytelling. I ve always found phonetics
really neat so that is why I enjoyed that aspect of the course a lot.
There weren t really any aspects of the course that I didn t like so I
can t really say what my least favourite aspect was. I liked the
freedom of working online. It was easy once you became familiar with how
the blackboard worked and you could do your work whenever you felt like
doing it or whenever you had time to fit it in. It was also nice to be
able to read about what all the other students thought about different
subjects too. I liked a lot of their ideas for teaching and their
experience helped me too. Like I said before I really liked how my
tutors gave feedback on all the assignments. It gave me new ideas and
new approaches to use when teaching young learners. They were also
usually pretty prompt in responding to any questions I had and they
explained everything really well so that I could do the work right.
Thanks for the great teaching. I had a good time and learnt a lot! "
Jerry Smith- 100-hour TESOL Graduate
I enrolled with Ontesol in order to refresh my knowledge of teaching
English as a second language. I got what I was looking for. I found the
material to be informative and a refresher of certain second language
learning guidelines, strategies, as well as grammar points. The
textbooks were packed with information that will be of use for me in the
years ahead as an ESOL teacher. My adviser was quick to review the
assignments as well. So, I am satisfied with my time and coursework with
Ontesol.
Nancy from Canada - 250-hour TESOL Graduate
I'm back after an exciting trip to China. My students were 18-19 year
olds who were nursing students. They were a delight to teach I used the
Titanic lesson (Assignment #14) and another listening comprehension
lesson which I had prepared before I went. I also used the "Story in a
bag" idea from Chapter 12. They did well with that. I also prepared
vocabulary lessons and pronunciation lessons before I went that I used. I
felt so much better this year teaching listening comprehension compared
to last year because of this course! Nancy from Canada.
Sonia Pippo from Canada - 250-hour TESOL Graduate
For the time that I pursued Ontesol's course, I was greatly impressed by
its structure, style, and material. I was also greatly impressed by my
tutor's abilities, skills, and helpfulness. Overall, I found it to be a
well thought-out and effectively presented course. I have highly
recommended your Tesol course to my friends and acquaintances. I greatly
appreciate all the hard work and patience that you and your team have
put into this course. Sonia Pippo - 2005
Mark Neville - Teaching in Korea - 250-hour TESOL Graduate
The course covered many different aspects of English and made me realize
just how much there really is to the English language! There are
plenty of opportunities in this course to realize where one's strengths,
weaknesses and interests lie. I felt that many important issues were
covered, including several common mistakes and various approaches of
teaching one type of goal. The assignments and exercises helped me to
improve upon my weaknesses. They also made me see my strengths and have
given me a better sense of confidence with regards to teaching English.
For the most part, I like how the course was arranged. I especially
liked the tutor system and I think that this is what makes this course
stand apart from others. It's convienient, private, secure and
reliable. It's very useful for those travelling or who cannot study on
campus. Perhaps the best feature of it was my tutor! She was extremely
patient, understanding, friendly and helpful! She is a great teacher
and helped lead and guide me throughout the course. If someone is
serious about teaching English as a second language and wants to make a
career out of it, I think they should consider this course. Mark Neville

Susan Nielsen from Germany - 250-hour TESOL Graduate
This course, the full course with the three modules, was simply
fantastic! Being my first on-line learning experience, I really wasn't
sure what to expect. But with seven years of teaching experience, I had
never expected anything so interesting, challenging, and enlightening.
Practice oriented tasks and assignments filled with helpful tips and
super feedback made the work inspiring. I am definitely a better teacher
now. Ontesol offers a first-rate course that I can confidently
recommend to anyone looking for further qualifications in the ESL field
or simply wanting to solidify their proficiency in teaching.Susan
Nielsen - Bebra, Germany February 22, 2008
Matt Flower from Canada - Teaching in Taiwan- Teyl Graduate
I have really enjoyed my experience doing this particular TEYL course.
One of the major reasons for this has been you two, Claudia and Jimena.
Both of you have been great at offering constructive advice on my work,
and have shown a great deal of understanding and patience. You have made
the course enjoyable with your insights into my work, and your guidance
and quick responses to any questions we have submitted. Having said
that, the readings have been a wonderful source of information for me.
The different types of methods and the detail of the readings on lesson
plans in particular. I really have learned a great deal that I have
already applied to my daily life as a teacher. I started a new job this
week, and I have been very very busy preparing lesson plans and meeting
with the director and parents to discuss my approach to teaching and
both of these responsibilities were helped enormously by what I have
learned. I feel the course has been logically laid out, with a sensible
progression from past theories, and early childhood language acquisition
to the varieties of methods and approaches to planning of lessons and
now onto actual classroom and behavior management. The solid foundation
provided in each week has been adding onto at the right pace as well.
The Blackboard site has also been wonderful to use. It is easy and
straight forward which is a big help to a computer novice such as
myself. Great program! Overall I have enjoyed this course a great deal
and am very happy I decided on learning with Ontesol and Coventry House.
Zarghoona - Teaching in Saudi Arabia - Teyl Graduate
Working online was a great experience. The chat session where we shared
ideas was like working f2f. I learned everything easily as every topic
was clearly explained. Thanks
Tommaso Fittipaldi - Italy - 250-hour TESOL Graduate
Thank you very much for being so patient with me. I know that there are
so many things to learn in this course, and that you are really always
here for everything. Please don`t stop! I like to know more and
understand more! Tommaso is currently teaching English in China
Micky Nicolini - 250-hour TESOL Graduate
Throughout the course I never felt alone. My tutor was always there to
guide and help me as difficulties arose. There was always an excellent
interaction between us.
Liliam Vasquez - 250-hour TESOL Graduate - Alberta- Canada
This course is the answer for anyone wishing to start or redirect their
careers into the ESL/EFL world. It provides a solid foundation on what
we need to know when we walk into that ESL classroom for the first time
and the many others to follow. It provides the participant with solid
techniques and examples of the many things that need to be considered
for an effective class.
Jason Baker- Canada - 250-hour TESOL Graduate
I took the full online course with the practicum in Toronto. I took this
course after teaching in Korea for over 6 years. I expected to gain a
little, thinking that after being in the classroom for over six years,
they probably couldn't tell me too many new things. Boy, was I wrong! I
can't believe the difference between my classes now and in the past. I
am enjoying teaching even more and my students are responding to my new
techniques. Not to mention that they are talking so much more. We're all
being so productive. The work was hard, but the lessons, assignments,
exams, and in-class teaching were unbelievably helpful. I can honestly
say that when I studied a lesson at night, I could take what I learned
and apply it with great results the next day. Not to mention the great
support and feedback you get from your tutor. My tutor was Claudia, and I
will always be thankful for the advice, patience, and influence she
gave me. Thank you again! I highly recommend this course to anyone with a
love for teaching English. Cheers! Jason Baker
Jana Cole - 250-hour TESOL Graduate - California - USA
The OnTESOL course prepared me to provide high-quality ESL instruction
to English learners of any level. I received solid training in lesson
planning, teaching techniques and other important areas for effective
teaching. In addition, this TESOL course is a great value. My local
university offers a certificate course at a much higher price for far
fewer hours of instruction.
Helen - Hong Kong - 250-hour TESOL Graduate + Practicum in Toronto
Thank you so much for everyone who gave me such a grateful experience in
my TESOL practicum. I flew through half of the world from Hong Kong to
Toronto for only 20 hours practicum but my memories from there keep me
sweet forever! Teachers are nice and patient whilst students are cute
and diligent. You never know how kind they are unless you meet them in
person! I treasure my learning and teaching opportunities there. With
my very best wishes, Helen - From Hong Kong
William - 250-hour TESOL Graduate - France
As an anglophone sharing my language and culture in France- this course
was indispensable. As a mature student juggling life's demands, my tutor
was not only instrumental in, but fundamental to my success. William
Amal from Ottawa - TEYL Certificate
I liked studying this course very much. I have learnt lots of thing s
that I did not know before and it encouraged me to learn more about
teaching English whether to kids or adults. A ll the materials I have
studied were new and interesting and I was looking for ward to every
week to learn more new topics . I liked working online, even though it
was my first time and when I started, I did not know how it would go. It
was easy and interesting at the same time. As for pair work, I liked
it very much and I learned a lot from my peers . I t was interesting
to shar e our opinions while doing the tasks. I would like to thank
my tutors for their hard work and for making this course as exciting
and interesting as it is. I hope that I can learn more from your
experience.
Deborah from Canada - Teaching in Taiwan
I enjoyed working on line. It was new for me. The chat was very
stressful. I wanted to organize my thoughts properly, not forget
anything, or make spelling mistakes. It was my first chat ever, and
after it was done I felt very happy. I think my typing skills improved
as a result of working on line too!! I have a B.A, a Diploma, and Year
III of a Social Work degree. You could say that for a while I was a
professional student. Therefore, I have had my share of professors,
instructors, and tutors. I have no issue with being honest about your
performance as tutors. In fact, I was quite impressed with how you
arranged the course, how you offered feedback and guidance, and how you
encouraged us to be practical in our work.
Kiran Chhabra- India - TEYL Online
Wonderful and challenging material. You have made me work very hard. But I have enjoyed it so much
Mariana Constanzo Lopez - Spain - TEYL Online
I would recommend the course to anyone who would like to learn how to
teach young learners. The tutors did an excellent job. Thanks to Jay and
Claudia for being so professional, supportive and knowledgeable.
Yuichiro Kawai - Japan - TEYL Online
Lots of ideas- Motivational, enriching material. Learning different
techniques to teach kids has helped me tons in my daily lessons
Teresita Soto - Mexico - TESOL and TEYL graduate
The course was exciting in all modules and made me learn a lot. The
module I enjoyed the most was storytelling because it allowed me to use
my imagination at all times. Also because I liked the ideas for multiple
intelligences, brain gym, and brain-based learning which I consider to
be really creative, innovative, and the best for kids and teachers. My
tutors were always supportive and encouraged me in the best way. I knew I
could always count on them. They always showed patience, support, and
made me feel confident. I'm really looking forward to taking another
course with you. I have learned so many things with you, that I will
gladly enroll in any other stuff you prepare and even recommend you to
other people".
Karen Clift - Teaching in Switzerland - Online TESOL and TEYL graduate
In general I found this course to be very good. As a homeroom teacher I
was looking for a course to take that would help me to teach my ESL
students better. I found that this course gave me many ideas. I found
the syllabus for this course to be comprehensive, interesting and
current. My learning process was enriched by using the discussion board
to learn about other participants thoughts and ideas on our different
topics. I found that the pacing of the course was good. I felt I was
challenged by the tasks, but not overwhelmed, thus I found the course
well-balanced. I think I have worked hard, completed my tasks well and
learned the material well. I feel I am able to integrate many new ideas
into my teaching and have some ideas to share with colleagues. The
resources from this course will be very useful in the future. I feel
confident that I could apply these ideas to other teaching jobs in the
future which will involve ESL students in different situations. I am
interested in expanding my teaching career and I feel that this course
will help me to do this in the future.
Josephine Saley - China - Online TESOL and TEYL graduate
The whole course is well organized and seems to cover most of the areas
in teaching children. I appreciate the teachers effort to set up the
course. They are encouraging and very helpful.
